Kim Foreman, LCSW, is a co-owner and therapist at Wholehearted Counseling, a private psychotherapy practice with locations in Virginia Beach and Carrollton, Virginia. Kim received a BS in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University and an MSW from Norfolk State University. Kim has 25 years of direct service experience with 12 years in private practice. Prior to entering private practice, Kim worked in various non-profit settings including residential and outpatient settings, with court-referred youth, individuals, and families in need of services for substance use disorders and in program administration.
Kim specializes in the treatment of complex trauma and dissociation. She is passionate about learning, as well as teaching and mentoring. Kim manages a study group through Wholehearted Counseling, with the purpose of assisting therapists in the assessment and identification of complex trauma and dissociative disorders. Kim hopes to increase client treatment options by supporting therapists as they build their confidence and knowledge base in those areas, as she has been fortunate to access support and education from seasoned trauma therapists.
Kim appreciates the opportunity to participate in this trial to learn more about the research process and contribute to clients that she deeply respects. She looks forward to continuing to grow in this area. Kim is excited about the opportunity of utilizing the clinical application of this research model to enhance service delivery for clients.
Kim has been a member of the ISSTD since 2021. She completed EMDR training through the ISSTD in 2022. Kim currently serves the Mid-Atlantic ROC Executive Committee as Moderator.
