Aleksandr Segal, holds a lecturer and researcher position at Mykolas Romeris University, Lithuania. He earned his Ph.D. in Psychology from Mykolas Romeris University, with his research focusing on legal psychology (investigative interviewing and legal decision-making) and the psychological impacts of trauma, particularly in cases of child sexual abuse and domestic violence.
Dr. Segal has been actively involved in several national and international research projects. Notably, he contributed to the UNCOVABUSE project, which aimed at assessing the lifetime prevalence of child sexual abuse and developing a Lithuanian version of simulated interview software. Currently, he is part of a research team studying the effectiveness of Avatar training services and the role of resilience and social support after adverse childhood experiences. His research work has been presented at numerous international conferences and published in leading journals, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field of psychology.
In addition to his research, Dr. Segal is dedicated to teaching and mentoring students, particularly in the fields of legal psychology. He also maintains a private practice as a psychologist, specializing in child and adolescent counseling, as well as legal psychological evaluations. Dr. Segal is an active member of several professional organizations, including the European Association of Psychology and Law, and contributes to the academic community through his roles in organizing conferences and reviewing for academic journals.
