Laksana L. Rachman is a Research Assistant for Professor Arielle Scoglio at Bentley University, where he focuses on sexual violence research. He is a sophomore currently set to graduate from Bentley University with a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics in 2027. He has been actively engaged in analyzing qualitative data on attitudes toward sexual violence using NVivo and assisting in literature reviews on rape culture in higher education, working with researchers from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Merrimack College. Currently, Laksana has also been working with Dr. Karestan Koenen at the Epidemiology Department of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health as a research assistant, working on studies involving the role of PTSD and resilience in Metabolic Syndrome using data from the Nurses Health Study II (NHSII).
In addition to his current work, Laksana initiated a research project to explore the economic burden of sexual violence against women in Indonesia, which received funding from Bentley University's Valente Center for Arts and Sciences. His research examines the impact of sexual violence on national employment and productivity, with findings presented at Bentley's Spring Undergraduate Research Day. Previously, he was an intern at Helios Capital Asia, a boutique investment banking firm based out of Jakarta, Indonesia specializing in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and debt restructuring. Additionally, Laksana has also completed Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program in 2023. Laksana has also completed a pre-baccalaureate training program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business in December 2021 in prescriptive analytics.
