Alex is an senior and dean's list student studying psychology with a minor in sociology at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. He plans on graduating in the Fall 2025 semester. He is the president of his school’s guitar club, treasurer of the psychology club, and treasurer of the American Sign Language Club. At these clubs he helps students network with peers who have similar interests along with organizing presentations and events. He is currently working as an undergraduate assistant in his school’s counseling education department. Alex has spent the summer break of 2024 interning at a youth shelter running art therapy and group counseling sessions. Alex has since then been hired by this youth shelter where he serves as a youth advisor assisting teens with career planning and managing emotions. He has received training in ethical and professional standards and is supervised in his work. He has obtained his Mandated Reporter training and CITI training in research protocols. Alex has co-presented findings from research on art therapy with traumatized youth at the Eastern Psychological Association conference in Philadelphia in 2024 and at the Association for the Development of the Person-Centered Approach International Conference in July, 2024. Alex plans on pursuing a PhD focused on clinical psychology, and eventually working with his sister who is pursuing a career in neurological therapy in order to provide mental health support to people facing brain injury. As part of his work with the Counselor Education department at Kutztown, Alex assists with research data literature reviews and manages several data bases which he and updates regularly.
