Lakshmi Nair Kanangottu is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist from India. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Marital, Couple, and Family Counseling at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. She brings a robust working background, has worked with diverse groups of people, and has good experience working with individuals affected by trauma. Once she completed her Clinical Psychology training at Amrita Institute of Medical Science, India, she worked as a Clinical Psychologist. As part of her professional development, she was trained in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and Interpersonal Psychotherapy, which helped her establish a well-rounded career through various professional engagements. Her professional journey also includes working with couples and families with marital conflicts and Gynae and Fertility issues, where she provides counseling and psychoeducation and uses different modalities of treatment according to the client’s needs.
She moved to the United States in 2022 and enrolled in a master’s in Marital, Couple, and Family Counseling at Kutztown University. That was a challenging and life-changing situation, and she had to adapt to many cultural differences and diverse situations in life and in her career. Since 2023, she has been associated and trained under Dr. Cohen, Professor of Counselor Education & Student Affairs at Kutztown University in Kutztown, where Lakshmi had the opportunity to study trauma therapy in refugee mental health, at the same time, trauma disclosure in children and adolescents. Her research and clinical insights have been shared through presentations at various prestigious conferences.

She is dedicated to enhancing her skills and knowledge to provide her clients with the highest quality of care.
