Lauren is a psychoanalyst in private practice in Brooklyn, New York. She is currently a member of the training committee and an instructor at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy where she instructs a Clinical Practice class. Lauren became a certified psychoanalyst in January 2022. Through analytic training Lauren focused on the impact of relational trauma and its creation of the sadomasochistic cycle through psyche's capacity for dissociation. She graduated from New York University with a Masters in Social Work in 2017 after graduating from University of South Carolina with a BA in Psychology in 2015. It was at University of South Carolina where Lauren was introduced to Jung's work and dedicated herself to the study and practice of healing trauma though psychotherapy. She is currently interested in working at the intersection of Relational psychoanalysis, Jungian analytical psychology, and the study of trauma and dissociation. She participates in a weekly consultation group with clinicians committed to understanding how to embody non-shaming and attuned roles in the processing of trauma and dissociation. Lauren has a particular interest in the incorporation of Jungian frameworks in the practice of working with trauma as these frameworks offer acceptance and affirmation of our multiplicities and our creative abilities to heal from the inside out. Lauren's intention in her career is to provide trauma informed psychotherapy for individuals with the belief that deepening connection with ourselves has the potential to create safer and meaningful lives and environments for many. Lauren is a dedicated yoga practitioner, watercolor painter and poetry reader and enjoys including insights from these various forms of expression into her work.
