Bruce Deveau, MSW has worked in private practice in Salisbury, MA for more than twenty years with a consistent focus on working with people living with complex trauma and dissociation.
Prior to private practice, Bruce worked in community mental health with a focus on people living with personality disorders and addictions. He has a BA in Social Work from The University of Southern Maine, where he was a Presidential Scholar and graduated with highest honors. He has a Master of Social Work degree from Simmons College Graduate School of Social Work, where he earned the Iris MacRae award for outstanding scholarship. He is a member of the Creative Arts Therapy SIG within the ISSTD community. Prior to entering the mental health field, Bruce was a graphic artist and taught at the Butera School of Art in Boston, MA.
Bruce is trained in EMDR (certified), addictions, and structural dissociation. In addition, he is trained in administering the Multidimensional Inventory of Dissociation. He is an assistant/consultant in Natural Processing Somatic EMDR. He has an interest in men’s mental health, LGBTQ mental health, and sport/performance psychology. He is the author of a concentration skills training workbook for race car drivers and has presented nationwide on performance psychology in auto racing. He also has interest in the creative process, as an actor, director and playwright. He has playwright credits in England, Canada, and USA. His current interest is in applying the creative process of drawing to help clients constructively engage with dissociative self states.
