Nicole Wang, B.S. (she/her), is a current second-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) American Psychological Association-accredited Clinical Psychology program. Currently, she serves as a psychology trainee at the OurRelationship practicum site, a federally funded program, where she provides nationwide, web-based support to couples experiencing relationship distress through an adaptation of Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy. She is also involved as a qualitative coder for the OurRelationship program, where she codes core issues identified in couples’ presenting problems to determine the effectiveness of the program. Outside of her academic responsibilities, Nicole works as a counselor at The Renfrew Center, where she provides therapeutic groups to aid adolescent girls, adult women, and transgender and non-binary individuals in their eating disorder recovery. She also facilitates perinatal support groups through Postpartum Support International to birthing parents who are struggling with new parenthood and mental health. Nicole brings a diverse clinical background, having gained experience across various medical specialties, including internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and emergency medicine. Over the past year, she has contributed to webinars addressing key issues such as impostor syndrome, the psychological challenges surrounding childbirth and parenthood, mindful parenting, how to manage fear and anxiety of childbirth and parenthood, and barriers to parental mental health. Her research interests are centered on women’s mental health, with a particular focus on material mental health and reproductive health psychology. Given her interests, Nicole serves as the research chair of the Health Psychology Association and the vice president of the Association for Women’s Empowerment within the College of Psychology at Nova Southeastern University. Nicole is also a graduate student member of the American Psychological Association and Postpartum Support International.
