Jodie Maccarrone, Ph.D. (she/her), obtained her Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in 2022. She is founder of ChangePartners, LLC, a specialty private practice serving high-functioning individuals who have excelled in their professional lives but struggle internally with the emotional and psychological effects of trauma. She is also an adjunct professor in the doctoral program in the College of Psychology at Nova Southeastern University. She completed her predoctoral internship at Broward Health Medical Center, in an inpatient consultation-liaison role and post-doctoral fellowship at Nova Southeastern University's (NSU) Psychology Postdoctoral Residency Program. Her previous clinical experiences include primary care and community health /behavioral health settings including working with serious mental illness, personality disorders, complex trauma and traumatic stress disorders. Her clinical and research interests focus on examining the utility of natural language and natural language processing (NLP) as a diagnostic, conceptualization, and progress monitoring tool for complex conditions such as complex trauma, complex PTSD, and chronic pain. Her work also explores the bidirectional relationship between mental and physical health (specifically pain disorders) and trauma as an important risk factor, as well as the impact of psychological well-being on chronic health issues. She has published work related to trauma and chronic pain as well as psychological well-being in peer-reviewed journals. She is trained in contemporary relational psychodynamic psychotherapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and cognitive behavior therapy and works therapeutically from an integrative perspective. She is an active member of the American Psychological Association, as well as Division 38 Health Psychology, and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation.
