Abby Dopico, M.S. (she/her), is a current fourth-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Nova Southeastern University (NSU), where she is part of an American Psychological Association-accredited Clinical Psychology program. Abby is the clinic coordinator of the Trauma Resolution Integration Program (TRIP) within NSU’s Psychology Services Center, a community mental health clinic serving survivors of prolonged abuse and trauma. In this role, she not only oversees administrative duties but also provides supervision and training to practicum students, ensuring high-quality care for a diverse client population, including individuals with complex medical presentations. Her clinical experiences are broad and specialized, having completed practicum rotations at the Biofeedback and Health Psychology Center (BHPC) and TRIP. Abby has extensive experience working in community mental health settings with individuals who have chronic and severe medical conditions, serious mental illnesses, personality disorders, complex trauma, and traumatic stress disorders. Her therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from a variety of modalities, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, dialectical behavior therapy, process/experiential therapy, person-centered therapy, and relational influences. Abby’s research interests focus on the intersection of physical health, chronic disease, and trauma, particularly in female sexual assault survivors. She has contributed to significant research projects, including involvement in NIH-funded studies, where she served as research coordinator. She is student member of the American Psychological Association, including Division 38 Health Psychology, Division 56 Trauma Psychology, and Division 12 Society of Clinical Psychology. Additionally, she is a student member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation. Abby's dedication to her field is also reflected in her scholarly work and her participation in numerous conferences and symposia, where she has presented her research findings.
