Tue-Anh Dinh-Van, BPsych(Hons), is a researcher at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Vietnam National University (VNU), specializing in trauma and developmental psychology. She currently serves as a student analyst and assistant trainer at Latitude Therapy in St. Louis, Missouri. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with honors from the USSH, VNU.
Drawing on developmental psychopathology and attachment perspectives, Dinh-Van initiated research on ICD-11 Complex PTSD and dissociation in the Vietnamese context. Her current research investigates the relationship between adverse childhood experiences, emotion regulation, and ICD-11 trauma symptomatology in clinical populations. She has collected data from nearly 2,000 treatment-seeking patients at the Vietnam National Institute of Mental Health, contributing to the validation of vital trauma assessment tools in Vietnamese. Her research findings have established robust relationships between ICD-11 PTSD, Complex PTSD, and dissociative factors, advancing understanding of trauma manifestations in Vietnamese populations.
Her professional experience spans clinical, educational, and research settings across two continents. Before joining Latitude Therapy, she worked as a school psychologist in Hanoi. She also worked as a clinical psychologist assistant at Hung Dong Applied Education Psychology Research Center, a leading clinic for developmental disorders in Vietnam, where she conducted psychological assessments and contributed to national projects on autism spectrum disorder intervention.
Her inspiration is adapting complex trauma treatment for Vietnamese populations, emphasizing mentalization approaches and evidence-based practices. Through her research and clinical work, she aims to bridge cultural gaps in trauma treatment and advance understanding of developmental psychopathology across different cultural contexts.
