Heather Davediuk Gingrich obtained a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of the Philippines in 2004. She held clinical and teaching positions in Ontario, Canada from 1982 to 1997 (Ottawa Christian Counseling Center in Ottawa, Christian Family Ministries and Emmanuel Bible College in Kitchener) after which she spent eight years in Manila, Philippines teaching in MA and doctoral level counseling programs at Alliance Graduate School and Asia Graduate School of Theology (a consortium of seminaries). From August 2005 until the August 2022, she was on faculty at Denver Seminary, being hired as an assistant professor and working her way up to tenured full Professor of Counseling. Currently she directs the MA in Counseling Ministries program, teaches in the MA Marriage and Family Therapy program, and developed and coordinates the Graduate Certificate in Trauma Therapy at Toccoa Falls College School of Graduate Studies. She has published 13 peer reviewed journal articles on trauma and dissociation, has written multiple book chapters, and has authored Restoring the Shattered Self, originally published in 2013 with a revised edition which came out in 2020. She is also a contributor and co-editor of Treating Trauma in Christian Counseling. Her most recent publication (2024) is a book for complex trauma survivors entitled Shattered No More! Dr. Davediuk Gingrich has made dozens of presentations at professional conferences over her 40 plus years in the field, including workshops, papers, webinars, plenary sessions, and pre/post conference workshops on complex trauma and dissociative disorders. She has also published numerous magazine articles and made presentations for the general public, has been interviewed for radio broadcasts and films, and has done podcasts for general audiences. She was presented with the Narramore Award by the Christian Association for Psychological Studies (2019) and the Faculty Research Award by Toccoa Falls College (May 2024).
