Sarah Chipps, PsyD is a licensed psychologist (NY 20206, CA 33600, CO 4865) and maintains a private practice while managing and supervising group practices that she founded. She earned her master’s and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco. Since 2008, she has had the privilege to work with people of diverse identities and histories, in a variety of settings including residential and partial hospitalization care for eating disorder and substance abuse treatment. She presents regularly on topics related to dissociative disorder and eating disorder treatment.
Dr. Chipps is the founder of Sanctuary Psychology, an intensive outpatient program for people with complex PTSD and dissociative disorders in New York, New York; Well Williamsburg Psychotherapy, a group practice in Brooklyn, New York; and Well Equipped, a virtual comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy intensive outpatient program.
She is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Cognitive Processing Therapy, EMDR, Comprehensive Resource Model, and hypnosis. All of these modalities inform her work. Dr. Chipps specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and trauma.
When Dr. Chipps is not working she can be found playing with, or caring for, her 6 cats (5 tuxedos and 1 calico, in case you were curious) while listening to true crime podcasts.
