Dr. Audrey Zatopek is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in Texas. She has a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin, has a M.A. in Counseling from Houston Graduate School of Theology, and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Texas Tech University (TTU). She has a varied work history involving working at a Christian not-for-profit center, psychiatric hospitals, a residential substance abuse treatment facility, jail, with DWI probationers, and in private practices. She has served as an adjunct professor at Midwestern State University, the University of Houston, and Texas A&M University-Kingsville and is trained in Brainspotting, EMDR, Hypnosis, Parts and Memory Therapy, Revisioning, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. Pertaining to professional associations, Dr. Zatopek is a current member of the ACA, the ACES, Texas Counseling Association (TCA), the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), Phi Kappa Phi (PKP), The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), and Chi Sigma Iota (CSI). She is the current Secretary-Treasurer for the Texas Association for Adult Aging and Development division of the TCA, also serving as an ad hoc reviewer role and emerging editorial board member for several counseling journals. Additionally, she serves as the chair of the Southern Regional Online Community and Virtual and Regional Conference Committee through the ISSTD. As a researcher, she has been part of research teams at University of Texas at Austin, Texas Tech University, University of Houston, and Midwestern State University investigating the topics of PTSD, college student mental health, smoking cessation, online bullying, Covid-19, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and the mental health of mental healthcare workers. Dr. Zatopek's current research interests include counselor education, trauma, dissociation, addictions, and co-/multimorbid diagnoses.
