Cindy Shrigley, MSW, RSW maintains a private practice providing consultation and therapy based out of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. She is the founder of the Centre for Trauma and Stress.
Cindy has specialized in the treatment of complex trauma and dissociation for over 35 years. She has presented at national and international conferences on the topic of complex trauma and dissociation. She is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Clinical Social Work (1989). Cindy began training in dissociation and trauma early in her career in response to her outpatient social work caseload.
Cindy is an EMDRIA-approved consultant and was trained in EMDR therapy in 1999. She is a member of both EMDRIA and EMDR Canada. She also provided clinical and consultative services in EMDR therapy and the use of structural theory of dissociation with EMDR therapy. In 2020, Cindy trained in Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)®. She then organized DBR training for other therapists through the Centre for Trauma and Stress. She became a DBR consultant in 2021, offering a deep knowledge in the clinical application of DBR with dissociative disorders. Cindy recently contributed a chapter on DBR and dissociative disorders toward an upcoming book on DBR edited by Frank Corrigan, Jessica Christie-Sands, and Hannah Young.
Cindy is also a DBR trainer.
