Tina Shrigley, PhD., C. Psych. maintains a clinical and consulting practice in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. She serves as the Clinical Director of the Centre for Trauma and Stress. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Counselling Psychology in 2019. Tina worked as a Registered Social Worker providing clinical and consulting services in trauma, complex trauma, and dissociation for several years prior to completing her PhD. Her graduate research focused on community response to disaster (Masters) and Indigenous women’s experience of healing from trauma (Doctoral).
Tina's undergraduate degree is in Kinesiology and Physical Education. She has always been interested in the connectedness of the body and the mind, in particular how environmental stress and trauma and impact physical health and psychological well-being
In addition to working in private practice, Tina has also worked in post-secondary counselling centres.
She was trained in EMDR in 2009 and has been an EMDRIA-approved consultant for 10 years. Tina trained under Kathy Martin in the use of structural theory of dissociation with EMDR therapy. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults and has experience working with first responders and Indigenous clients.
Tina trained in Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)® in 2020 and is a DBR consultant and presenter.
Tina presented with Cindy Shrigley at the 2022 EMDR Canada conference about EMDR therapy and DBR. She also co-presented with Cindy in 2023 on EMDR therapy, parts work, and DBR therapy.
Cindy Shrigley, MSW, RSW founded the Centre for Trauma and Stress. Tina is honoured to work alongside her mother, Cindy, and her father, Richard Shrigley. Even her dog, Sunny, comes into the office to greet clients.
