Lynne-Marie Shea, PhD completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Suffolk University in May of 2023. Prior to pursuing a degree in Clinical Psychology, Lynne worked as a victim advocate for survivors of homicide victims and victims of violent crime and later as the Director of Victim Services at the Nonviolence Institute in Providence, RI. During her clinical training, Lynne worked as an emergency room assessor and a co-responder with the Providence Police Department. She completed her clinical internship at McLean Hospital's Behavioral Health Partial Program and her Postdoctoral fellowship with McLean Hospital's Diversity Equity and Inclusion Office (DEIO) and College Mental Health Program. Lynne currently works in the Alcohol, Drugs and Addiction Treatment Program (ADATP) outpatient clinic as a staff psychologist. Lynne's clinical training includes specializations in evidence-based treatments for PTSD and other trauma related disorders, mentalization based therapy (MBT) for treatment of personality disorders, provision of multiculturally responsive services, college mental health, and provision of clinical services to first responders. Lynne's early research centered around service-learning and the influence of scaffolded mentoring for service-learners on civic identity development. She has also published on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on teaching pedagogy and practices. Her most recent research, including her dissertation, has focused on the impact of class identity on therapy engagement and outcomes. Lynne also received a presidential award from McLean Hospital to fund research examining the DEIO's creation and dissemination of resources to support and facilitate diversity equity and inclusion initiatives and programing throughout the McLean hospital system. This access and utilization study is currently being conducted with results anticipated for this spring.
